Deep Tissue Back Massage
Deep Tissue Back Massage focuses on the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue in the back. It employs slower strokes or friction techniques applied against the muscle grain. This type of massage is beneficial for chronically tight or painful back muscles, repetitive strain, postural issues, or recovery from injury. Clients may experience some soreness for a day or two following the treatment.

In a Deep Tissue Back Massage, some strokes resemble those used in classic (Swedish) massage, but the pace is generally slower, with greater pressure applied to targeted problem areas. Practitioners may use their forearms, elbows, fingertips, and knuckles, in addition to their hands, to break up adhesions - bands of rigid tissue that can cause pain, inflammation, and restrict movement and circulation in the muscle tissue. This massage technique aims to realign the various layers of tissue, addressing not only muscles but also tendons, ligaments, and fascia (the protective layer surrounding bones, joints, and muscles) to release tension and alleviate pain.
