What is brow lamination?
Have you noticed the full high-shined finish of eyebrows that seems to be taking over your social media pages? Well, that's quite possibly brow lamination. When we say lamination, we aren't talking about putting you through one of those machines with a bit of plastic covering your face! The treatment, however, does have that similar smoothing effect, created by using chemicals that semi-permanently set your eyebrow hairs in a vertical direction, making them appear fuller and 'brushed-up'. Brow lamination softens the hair follicle, leaving it with a refined, smoother shape. If you are looking for perfect brows that offer a fuller and more uniform look, book your brow lamination appointment today.
Looking after your brows after lamination
Brow lamination is one of the hottest trends right now, and it's no wonder when the treatment leaves you with beautiful-looking brows that have been manipulated to perfection. Brow lamination uses chemicals to reshape and redefine hair follicles. For this reason, it's not as simple as sitting in a chair for 10 minutes before getting up and getting on with your day. To maintain your laminated brows, you will need to ensure you follow the aftercare advice of your practitioner.
Easy-to-follow brow lamination tips:
- Keep your brows and the surrounding area dry for 24 hours
- Avoid contact with direct sunlight and sunbeds for 48 hours after your appointment
- Avoid swimming pools, saunas and steam rooms for 48 hours after your appointment
- Avoid rubbing or touching your brow area for the next 24 hours
Brow lamination is not a single treatment and does not set your hair permanently in place. Brow lamination breaks down the bonds in your hair so you can manipulate them into the look you desire. If you wake in the morning to find they have lost their fluffy finish, an eyebrow brush will get that look back without using any product. Your brow lamination results will last between 6-8 weeks. If you are looking to keep your brows as good as your treatment day in between appointments, we recommended using our brow gel or serum.
The benefits of brow lamination
The main reason why brow lamination is so popular in the beauty world is because of the finished look they give your eyebrows. When done correctly, your eyebrows will sit in a pleasing shape for weeks at a time with minimal effort from you. If you find yourself taking a long time to tease and tweeze your eyebrows into place every morning, with the support of products, brushes and eyebrow pencils, brow lamination could make this morning step much quicker and less time consuming for you.
Unlike other brow treatments, brow lamination is not permanent or invasive. This makes it a great option for those who would like to try out alternative treatments, but don't like the idea of invasive treatments on their faces or don't want to commit to one brow service for the foreseeable future. Eyebrow lamination can also help to address other concerns, including thinning hair due to age, brow gaps from overplucking, unruly hairs or a lack of shape.
